Club History
A Short History of One of The Best Football Clubs
Join our club and let sports become a part of your life. Don’t walk through life just playing football.
Don’t walk through life just being an athlete. Athletics will fade. Character and integrity
and really making an impact on someone’s life, that’s the ultimate vision.
We are a London based, non-profit making body that organises and manages a small football club, with the objective of developing young and adult talents from different communities, in the hope that some of them will progress through the amateur level to the professional levels. Equally, by supporting social diversity and community integration, we hope to also help build confidence and friendship within the different communities.
We started in the summer of 1991 at Chestnuts Park (Opposite St. Ann’s Hospital, South Tottenham N15 as a group of friends and family kicking about every Sunday afternoon. We then progressed to organise football matches against other friends who had taken the same cue and interest in kicking about every Sunday in other parts of London. We later moved a few times around before settling at Down Lane Recreaiional Ground, Park View Road, Tottenham in the summer of 1996.
In 2003 we got affiliated with the then Middlesex County Football Association (MCFA), now Middlesex Football Association (MFA), and joined the Ghana Football Society (GFS) League, which we initiated and helped to formalise through the MCFA. In 2005, Park View FC through commitment, discipline and hard work was awarded ‘The FA Charter Standard,’ which we have continued to renew every year through the FA’s Annual Health Check. We are also active members of the Haringey Football Development Forum, with our Chairman also being the person who worked in partnership with Tottenham Hotspur and the London Borough of Haringey to develop football within the borough.
In the last few years, we have been working with ‘Get Active London,’ ‘Pro-Active London’ and ‘Inter-Active’ to encourage participation by physically challenged people, ethnic minorities and other inactive social groups as demonstrated in our previous fitness projects with ‘Health for Haringey’ and our new ‘Soccer Fitness’ project every summer. As a way of recognising our efforts in the community, we were nominated as Adult Club of the year for 2010 and Best Club Coach in 2011 by Haringey Borough at the Haringey Celebrating Sports Awards.
We currently have 5 teams which include a Senior Men’s Team, a Female Team in the GFS Social Women’s League and 3 College Youth and Juniors Teams, one of which is in the LFL & ELE League. As part of our School Links and Satellite Sport Club Partnership Project, we also work with Park View Academy, Seven Sisters Primary School, in Haringey and deliver free Football Coaching Sessions for College of Haringey, Enfeld and North East London (CONEL).
Over the years, Park View FC have played in the Middlesex County Football League (MCFL), London Football League (LFL), London Commecial League (LCL), Amateur Footbal Combination League (AFC) and currently play in the Spartan South Midlands Football League (SSMFL) Division One. With a firm club structure in place along with the relentless efforts of all our Management, Coaching Staff, Volunteers and Members, Park View FC have enjoyed continues success throughout the years which include the following:
