Park View first became aware of Tanko’s rapidly rising profile after his first trial session at the club, when the Chairman, Eric Fraikue, was alerted to his performances by Princeton Owusu-Ansah
Relatively unknown when he first arrived, the 6’2, keeper wasted little time securing the No.1 place in Park View’s first team. An impressive command of the penalty area, superb reflexes and shot-stopping ability saw him through the season missing just one of the first 10 matches in his opening season.
However, if his first season ran surprisingly smoothly, a few injuries saw Shaibu Mohammed reclaim the No.1 spot. He however bounced back to make some impressive stops in successive games, securing the highest clean-sheet and lowest goals conceded in the league. Back in full time training next season he will no doubt put up a big challenge for the No1 Jersey. We wait too see who will claim ownership by the end of the season. An interesting rivalry looms.
