GFS Black Stars Prepare To Defend The Inner City World Cup – April 2006

Seven Park View players and their GFS-Black Stars team-mates, representing Ghana at the Inner City World Cup, have started their intensive four week training sessions to defend the World Cup title won last year. The 26 man squad includes some of the finest players from clubs participating in the Ghana Football Society-UK League.

Players selected from the current league champions (Park View FC) include, Shaibu Mohammed, Joseph Kissi, Felix Acheampong, Alex Danny Brown, Charles Allotey, Kofi Appiah and Francis Williams.

The 2 day tournament which kicks off on the 3rd and 4th of June 2006, will see 32 countries compete for the giant trophy. GFS Black Stars’ take on Afghanistan, New Zealand and Spain in the first round and will possibly meet either Bulgaria or Russia in the second round. The GFS-Black Stars team manager, Mr Awuku Danso (a.k.a Six) stressed on the importance of retaining the trophy this year and urges all parties involved to work hard and remain focus to achieve their goal.
