1st October 2006
This final game of the season, kicked off later than scheduled due to an early kick off at Tottenham Hot Spurs. This resulted in the late arrival of the Hackney team. A must win game for Park View, in order to secure the GFS Premiership for the second season running brought some tension to the home players. It was certainly a do-or-die game which had everything Park View had worked for in the season hinge on. With Park View’s chances of the championship slipping if they should loose, it was very important for the team to pull together all its physical, spiritual and psychological resources to secure the last three points in the bag. Lo and behold they responded with arguably their best performance of the season winning 3-0 against at home.
The game started with the re-emergence of Moses as part of the attacking midfield play. He struggled the first 10 minutes but later took absolute control of the game chasing every single ball and distributing all the balls in the right place for launching attacks. The game was totally dominated by Park View with the occasional spells from Hackney. Francis knew his championship trophy, championship medal and the “Golden Boot” were at stake, so lifted his game even higher by showing a lot of power and pace through out the game. He very quickly resumed duties putting away the first goal then graced the occasion and season with 2 other brilliant goals including arguably the best goal of the season (second goal) in an emphatic 3-0 victory over Hackney.
