Park View FC (3) v Republicans FC (1)

23rd April 2006
This game scheduled a month earlier was postponed because Republicans did not have their registration completed on time. The cold greyish afternoon in North-London presented the local derby both fans had been waiting for. Deemed, the Battle of Tottenham, Park View versus Republicans had everything you could wish for, passion, aggression, skills, cautions and goals. The first half nearly ended in a stale-mate, until a beautiful pass from Patrick found Francis who broke the deadlock. He turned Philip Frimpong a Republicans defender, leaving him on the floor after a clearance attempt, then toed the ball pass the goal keeper to score the fist goal against his former club.

The second goal came 10 minutes later; when a line pass from Sanjay found Carlos Danny Mendes who slid the ball pass the keeper and defender, who had rushed to block the pass. Republicans then pulled a goal back making it 2-1, so it was then important for Park View to put the game beyond Republican reach which meant a third goal was more necessary. The third goal ultimately came from a second corner kick from Felix Acheampong, which found the head of Moses Semakula who had come on to replace Nana Kofi in the second half, A couple of malicious tackles saw two Republicans sent off making it even more difficult for them to equalise. It was a big 90 minutes brawl, which ended 3-1 to Park View, after the dust had settled, and the storm was calm.
